Archie V. Cape, Jr.

Archie V. Cape, Jr., 74, of Washington, IL passed away at 5:36 am Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Washington Senior Living.

He was born on December 2, 1947, in Peoria the son of Archie V. and Irma I. Miller Cape Sr. He married Etta M. Noll in Washington on July 17, 1971.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, William Cape of Washington and Torry (Toni) Cape all of Washington; six grandchildren, Bailey, Zoe, Zadee, Mackenzie, Payton, and Avery; and one brother-in-law, Charles Frank of Ashby, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant sister Sharon Cape and one sister Donna Jean Frank.

He proudly served his country being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He worked for 32 years at Caterpillar Tractor Co. last working as a welder before his retirement.

Archie enjoyed life. He loved fishing, and in his younger years he enjoyed hunting, playing pool, and bowling, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Cremation will follow his service. A celebration of life will be held Friday, August 26, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Washington VFW Post 9016. Graveside services will be held 10:00 am on Monday August 29, 2022, at Glendale Cemetery in Washington with Military Honors rendered.
