WASHINGTON... Anthony E. Cravatta, 83, of Washington, passed away at 2:03 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Tony was born on May 15, 1932 in Streator to Charles and Myra (Lewis) Cravatta. He married Beverly McMillin in Streator on May 14, 1955. Among those surviving is his wife, Bev; two daughters, Sally (Sam Hazelett) Baldini of Logansport, IN and Tracy (Kevin) Martin of Pekin; one brother, Carl (Linda) Cravatta of Streator; one sister, Anne Salata of Streator and six grandchildren, Stephenie Cravatta, Colton and Beau Ginn, Garrett and Madison Baldini and Erica Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Stephen who died in 1997. Tony had served in the U. S. Army after high school, with part of his time spent in Germany. He retired as a meat cutter working for Kroger more than 40 years, last working on Sterling in Peoria. Tony was a lifetime member of Kennel Lake Sportsman Club where he loved to fish. He was the biggest Cub Fan in the Midwest and also loved to hunt rabbits. Tony especially loved spending time with his family and making his own version of Italian Sausage. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Washington and also attended Crossroads United Methodist Church with Bev. A mass to celebrate Tony's life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Julius Turyatoranwa officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, south of Washington. Visitation for Tony will be from 5 to 7 on Friday at Mason-White Funeral Home and from 9:30 to 10:15 at the church on Saturday. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the U.S. Army. Memorials for Tony may be directed to either the Alzheimer's Association or St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
