Anna L. Schierer age 92 of Metamora, Illinois passed away December 1, 2011 at Pioneer Care Center, Fergus Falls, MN. She was born February 15, 1919 to Earl and Maude (Sullivan) Guy in Beason, IL. She married the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Schierer on Sept. 28, 1940 at St. Mary?s Church, Metamora, IL. Through their almost seventy years of marriage "Annie" stood by Dick?s side while the family developed Schierer?s Dairy from the bottom up. Preceeding her in death were her husband, Richard on June 20, 2010; her parents and brother Robert Guy. She is survived by their children Terril W. (Deanna) of Stuart, FL, R. Stephen (Jane) of Erhard, MN and Joy A. Schierer of Sarasota, FL., 15 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grandchildren. Ann was a member of St. Mary?s Church, Metamora and actively involved in St. Mary?s Altar and Rosary Society for many years. She was Past-President of Illinois Federation of Womans Clubs and remained a member all her life. She loved to read romance novels, embroider quilt tops for all of her granddaughters and enjoy telling everyone about the grandkids and great grandkids. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan during their summers in Minnesota. She and Dick traveled extensively to such places as Guatemala, Australia, and Europe. When Dick retired in 1979 they established a residence in Florida during the winter and Minnesota in the summer while still keeping an Illinois home. They moved to Snyder Village, Metamora in 1998. The family would like to express its appreciation to the many family members and friends who have been a great source of comfort and support to Ann in her final months. Your many acts of kindness have meant so much. A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00am Tuesday Dec. 6, 2011 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Metamora, with Father Don Roszkowski officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30am until 10:45am at the church. Burial will follow at St. Mary?s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Mary?s Catholic Church 415 W.
