Ann King

Peoria- Ann King, age 90, of Peoria passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 5:04 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2017, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.

She was born on October 22, 1927, in St. Louis, Missouri to Edward A. and Lillian Frauenthal. She married Harold E. King in St. Louis on November 24, 1950. He survives. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Walhus.

In addition to her husband of 67 years, she is survived by her daughter, Carol Marshall (Doug) and her son, Harold E. (Corky) King Jr. (Julie). She is also survived by grandchildren Scott Marshall (Kirstin), Emily Marshall, and Skyler and Brandon King, as well as great-granddaughters Taylor, Maddie, and Alayna Marshall.

Ann was an active volunteer for the American Red Cross in Peoria and Wildlife Prairie Park. Ann and Harold were members of Mt. Hawley Country Club for over 40 years and later at Hunters Ridge Country Club in Bonita Springs, Florida, where they lived. Throughout the years she enjoyed playing tennis, golf, bridge, knitting and cross-stitching.

Above all, Ann will be remembered for her sharp wit and sense of humor which kept everyone entertained until the end.

Cremation rites have been accorded through Mason-White Funeral Home. Ann's family will honor her life in a private remembrance.
