Amelda Ilene Kacir

Amelda Ilene Kacir, 85, of Metamora, IL passed away at 11:06 pm on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born on July 14, 1931 in Metamora, IL to Martin M. and Elizabeth A. (Rohman) Obert. She married John R. "Dick" Kacir on June 4, 1949 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora, IL. He passed away on April 27, 2008.

Surviving are three sons Donald (Sheryl) Kacir of Metamora, Ronald (Deb) Kacir of Washburn, and Randy Kacir of Cazenovia; one daughter Tina Boswell of Eureka; ten grandsons Donald Jr., Bradley, Clinton, Michael, Ronald Jr., Craig, Marc, Ricky, Johnathan, and Joseph; one step-grandson Jacob; two granddaughters Michelle and Ronda; eight great-grandsons Carson, Sean, Ian, Dane, Hayden, Cody, Kamden, and Triston; five great-granddaughters Bailey, Olivia, Kylies, Alivia, and Alexis; one step-great-grandson Jacob; two step-great-granddaughters Whysper and Serenity; and sister Marjorie Belshaw of Metamora. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Richard, nephew Billy Belshaw, and niece Sheree Halvachs.

Amelda worked at Hallmark Fixtures Metamora for 27 years, retiring in August, 1994. She was a member of the Hallmark 25 year club. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora and the Altar Rosary Society. Amelda loved music and she enjoyed dancing with Dick and the many special friends from dancing. She and Dick delivered senior citizen dinners. Amelda was a devoted mother who cherished and loved her family very much.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 7, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora with Father Greg Jozefiak officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with visitation to follow from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Metamora.
