Alvin E. Peterson

Alvin E. Peterson, 90, passed from this life into the presence of the Lord on May 20, 2012. He served in the Navy during WWII, worked 35 years at Caterpillar, and had his own business, Peterson Home Repair, but his life here cannot be measured by education, work, or social achievements. His days instead were filled with serving the Lord, helping others, and loving his family. His family praises the Lord for His gracious gift of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather. They rejoice and are comforted in the knowledge that because of Al?s faith in the Lord Jesus as his Savior, he is now with his Lord. Al was born on August 31, 1921, in Hardin, Illinois, the son of John and Nettie Peterson. He leaves, for a time, his wife of 62 years, Elaine, his 4 children; Paula (Steve) Dietrich, Julie (Gary) Ahlgren, Lori (Bob) Franck, and Doug (Kelly) Peterson, his grandchildren; Jana (Mike) Chambers, Trisha (Josh) Johnson, Hannah Franck, Katie (Phil ) Schreifels, John Franck, and Aaron, Moriah & Zach Peterson, his great grandchildren; Emma, Kaitlyn, Abby, Jacob, & Madeline, and his brother Paul Peterson. Visitation will be Monday, May 21 from 5:00-7:00pm at Mason-White Funeral Home, Washington. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 22 at 11:00am at Grace Bible Church, Washington, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Instead of giving to a memorial for Al, the family would encourage you to worship the giver of his life, the Creator of all, the Lord Jesus Christ.
