Alvena Barbara Force

Alvena Barbara Force, 92 of Roanoke, formerly of Germantown Hills and Metamora, passed away at 4:21am Sunday Feb. 3, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. She was born July 10, 1920 in Germantown Hills to Leo C. and Lydia (Kiesewetter) Fandel. She married Roy David Force on November 22, 1945 at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in rural Metamora. He passed away on May 26, 1989. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Denise) Force of Metamora, Shirley (Daniel) Lykins of Washington, David (Janice ) Force of Cazenovia, Daniel (Natalie) Force of Germantown Hills, Philip (Vivian) Force of New Windsor, IL., and Frank Force of Metamora; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Agnes Parr of Metamora, Marcella Obery of Metamora and Lulu Mae (Jack) Hoffman of Germantown Hills; and three brothers, Jack (Ruth) Fandel of Washington, Fred Fandel and Donald (Joan) Fandel both of Germantown Hills. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Alvena had worked for Hiram Walker in Peoria. She enjoyed her family, playing bingo, and praying the rosary with her siblings on Sunday evenings. She was a member of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church and a member of their Altar and Rosary Society. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am Thursday Feb. 7, 2013 at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in rural Metamora with Father Neri Greskoviak officiaiting. Recitation of the rosary will at 4:30pm Wednesday with visitation to follow from 5pm until 7pm at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary of Lourdes Cemetery.
