Alta J. Bruns

Alta J. Bruns age 72 of Germantown Hills, Illinois formerly of Hartsburg, Illinois passed away at 8:45pm Sunday May 12, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. She was born April 16, 1941 in Oran Township, Illinois to James E. and Hester L. (Hubner) Ware. She married Franklin D. Croteau on June 14, 1959 in Mason City, Illinois and he passed away in 2003. Surviving are her children, Chris (Janet) Croteau of Canton, IL., Cheryl (Phillip) Springer of Delavan, IL., Melody (Stephen) Miller of Kasilof, Alaska, Jason (Kate) French of Atlanta, Georgia. Also surviving are her husband Russell "Dean" Bruns of Hartsburg, IL., 10 grandchildren and one great grandson. Sister Linda (Bruce) Heitzman of Germantown Hills, IL., and brother Karl (Julia) Ware of Beason, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents. Alta had a Interior Decorating degree, and worked for many years for Tri-AG Fertilizer Company in Hartsburg. She was a seamstress, and loved quilting, gardening, traveling and her cats. She attended Bay View Baptist Church in Washington, IL. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Thursday May 16, 2013 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Reverend Keith Thibo officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at 2:00pm Thursday at Union Cemetery in Waynesville, IL.
