WASHINGTON... Almarie Moss, 88, formerly of Washington, passed away early Thursday, November 5, 2015 at her home in Athens, Alabama. Almarie was born on November 10, 1926 in Athens to C.W. "Charlie" and Bertha (Brackeen) Peek. She married Grady Lee Moss in Athens on March 10, 1946. Grady passed away on October 20, 1995 in Peoria. Among those surviving her daughters, Linda Kamm, Deb Royston and Doris Bailey all of Athens; one sister, Doris (Richard) Boyd of Decatur, Alabama; five grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, Danny; one daughter, Diane and two brothers, Bud and Oatha. Prior to her retirement, Almarie had been a cook at various area restaurants and many years at Washington Christian Village. Almarie loved to play games, especially enjoying dominoes, puzzles and card games. Funeral services for Almarie will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Hafley officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Memorials may be directed to Gentiva Hospice, 5000 Bradford Dr. N.W., Suite 3A, Huntsville, Ala 35805.
