Alice "June" J. (Munsell) Swords

Alice J. "June" Swords, 90, of Germantown Hills, IL, passed away at 10:57 am on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Carle Health-Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL.

She was born on June 20, 1934, in McLeansboro, IL, to Odie and Anna (Gray) Munsell. She married Robert Strum on October 21, 1960 and he passed away on September 25, 2005. She then married Kenneth D. Swords in March, 2007 in Peoria, IL.

Surviving are her husband, Ken of Germantown Hills; daughter, Cathy (Gene) Fandel of Peoria, IL; step-son, David Swords of Pekin, IL; grandchildren, Michael Fandel of Oak Lawn, IL, Heather (Jeff) Beeson of North Aurora, IL, and Heidi (Larry) Williamson of Bartonville, IL; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Jines.

Alice was the office manager for Consolidated Freightways for many years. She was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local #627 in Peoria, IL and a member of Willow Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spent many winters in Florida.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Willow Hill United Methodist Church with Reverend Nicole Cox officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL.
