Alberta Christ

Alberta Christ, 93, of Lowpoint, IL passed away at 7:30 am on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on July 22, 1924 in Udell, IA to Merton A. and Sadie (Price) Whisler. She married Melvin Christ on June 13, 1942 in Lowpoint, IL. He passed away on August 29, 2016.

Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two sisters and two brothers.

Alberta was a homemaker. She was a long life member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethen in Lowpoint. She was very active in her church and was a former President of the National organization Women Christian Temperance Union.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Oak Grove Church of the Brethen with Reverend Charles Buegel officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Buckingham Cemetery in Washburn, IL.
