Albert L.S. Bishop, Sr.

Albert L. S. Bishop, Sr., 88, of Bayview Gardens, IL, passed away at 9:37 pm on Friday, October 14, 2022 at River Crossing of East Peoria in East Peoria, IL.

He was born on July 6, 1934 in Peoria, IL to Levi and Mildred (Terrell) Bishop. He married Marcelene R. "Marty" Cullen on November 13, 1952. She passed away on March 29, 2017.

Surviving are his children, Marcia (Tony) Regenold of Spring Bay, IL, Douglas Bishop, Sr. of Middle Grove, IL, Janice Foster of East Peoria, Kevin (Lisa) Bishop, Sr. of Humeston, Iowa, Albert "Scott" (Barbara) Bishop, Jr. of East Peoria, and Amy (Jeff) Morrow of Bayview Gardens; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Carl Bishop and Butch Bishop both of Mapleton, IL, and Monica Cole of Mountain Home, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Randy Bishop, and two sisters.

Albert was a crane operator for Martin Marietta in Pekin, IL. He operated a sawmill in Bayview Gardens. He enjoyed woodworking, making toys for his grandkids, and was an all-around Mr. Fix-It. Albert had a life-long love of beagles and had many of them over the years. He played fiddle and enjoyed watching old Western movies.

The family would like to thank the staff at River Crossing of East Peoria for all their care and compassion in taking care of Albert.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay, IL with Pastor Gary Salm officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Greater Illinois Chapter, 525 West Monroe Street, Suite 1510, Chicago, IL 60661 or to the A.R.K.
