Alan S. Evans

WASHINGTON?Alan S. Evans, 75, of Washington, formerly of East Peoria, passed away at 6:34 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Al was born on May 8, 1938 in Peoria to Marion and Ethel Mae (Spring) Evans. He married Bobette Fuller in East Peoria on October 10, 1958. They had just celebrated 55 years of marriage. Bobette survives. Also surviving are three sons, Michael Evans of McDade, Texas, Mark Evans of East Peoria and Matthew Evans of Pekin; one brother, Dave (Cheryl) Evans of Washington; three grandchildren, Dustin Evans, Jason (Susan) Evans and Mark Evans and two very special great grandchildren, Tinley Marie and Kallen. Al was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dona Jaquet. Al had retired from CILCO where he had been director of marketing. He loved to golf and fish when he had the chance. In 1988 Al was awarded the Citizen of the Year in East Peoria where he had been very active for many years in the Festival of Lights. Al also had been a member of the East Peoria Optimist Club. His favorite pastime was traveling when he had the opportunity and spending the time with family. Al always looked forward to the annual trips to the Gulf Coast to visit his brother when he lived in Mississippi. In accordance with Al?s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be a celebration to remember Al at a later date in 2014.
