Alafaire Pierce

Alafaire "Sallie" Pierce age 86 of Germantown Hills, Illinois passed away at 8:35pm Thursday Sept. 1, 2011 at Morton Terrace Care Center. She was born Jan. 16, 1925 in Elkville, Illinois to William C. and Amanda J. (Knapp) Rice. She was married to Willard E. Pierce who passed away in Nov. of 1985. Surviving are her children David (Susan) Pierce of Germantown Hills, and Donna (Douglas) Thewlis of Metamora, 5 grandchildren, 11great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren. Sallie is also survived by one brother Gilbert (Darlene) Rice of Peoria, and one sister Priscilla Webster of Ribera, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by one great grandchild, one great great grandchild, and two brothers. Sallie was a homemaker and of the Christian Faith. Services will be at 12:00pm Tuesday Sept. 6, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Pastor Gil Crosby officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
