WASHINGTON?Rosamund (Munda) Law Allison, 82, of Washington, passed away at 11:15 pm, Thursday, November 28, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria as a result of the tornado that hit their home on November 17. Munda was born on February 21, 1931 in Charleston, West Virginia to George H. and Rosamund (Hilbert) Law. She married Raymond D. Allison on October 25, 1952 in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. Ray survives. She is also survived by one son, William L. Allison of Crete, Illinois; one grandson, Andrew Allison of Oakland, California and one brother Walter (Shirley) Law of Manitou Springs, Colorado. Munda was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Dean Allison who died on April 2, 2010 in Peoria. Munda graduated with honors from Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston in 1948. She then attended Duke University at Durham, North Carolina earning an Honor?s Degree in Science in 1952. She had been a substitute teacher in Washington Central Grade and also had taught in Glasgow, Scotland. A memorial service for Munda will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 4th, 2013 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Josh Lehman officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to services.
