Mary H. Christ

Mary H. Christ, 91, of Metamora, IL passed away at 7:39 am on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Snyder Village in Metamora. She was born on January 22, 1925 in Worth Township, IL to John and Hildagard (Michael) Adams. She married Harley L. Christ on August 5, 1967 in Washburn, IL. He passed away on September 10, 2009. Surviving are her brother Robert (Rita) Adams of Metamora; sister Bernadette (Ralph) Rossman of Normal; fourteen nephews; thirteen nieces; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Anna Stenger, and two infant brothers Clement and Joseph. Mary was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Washburn. She loved gardening and feeding her birds. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, Washburn with Reverend Mark Gruden officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow the services in the Black Partridge Cemetery near the Christ centennial farm in rural Metamora.
