Lloyd J. Pennington

Lloyd J. Pennington, 85, of East Peoria, IL passed away at 10:00 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria. He was born on January 19, 1932 in Franklin County, AL to Clancy and Evie (Jackson) Pennington. He married Betty S. Perry on August 1, 1950 in Fulton, MS. She passed away on May 7, 2000.

Surviving are his children Jim (Kathy) Pennington of Princeton, IL, Pamela (Bruce) Marsh of Washington, IL, Gary (Becky) Pennington of Sheffield, AL, and Vince (Denice) Pennington of Killen, AL; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Lloyd retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1982 where he had worked in process control for 33 years. He was a member of Bayview Baptist Church where he volunteered in church ministry work. He asked everybody he met if they were a Christian and knew the Lord.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel in Germantown Hills, IL with Reverend Joe Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until time of his service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery in Metamora.
