Joan M. Packman

Joan M. Packman, 83, of Metamora, IL passed away at 11:58 pm on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Snyder Village in Metamora with her family at her side. She was born on February 22, 1932 in LaCrosse, WI to James and Mary (Metzdorff) Dayton. She married Harry W. Packman, Jr. on June 28, 1952 in LaCrosse, WI. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2015. Also surviving are her children Christine (Mark) Nauman and Harry W. (Lori) Packman, III both of Metamora, and James (Julie) Packman of Washington, IL; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; her twin sister Jean Affeldt of LaCrosse, WI; and brother Robert (Darlene) Dayton of LaCrosse, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers James, John, Thomas and David along with three sisters Sister Katherine, Shirley and Ruth. Joan worked at the Metamora Woodworking for 13 years. She loved to play bridge, work in her flower beds, go fishing, and traveling to all 50 states with Harry. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Metamora and their Altar Rosary Society. A Funeral Mass will be held at her church, St. Mary's Catholic Church of Metamora on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 11:00 am with Father Gregory Jozefiak officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9:15 am and the visitation to immediately follow until mass time. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Metamora.
