WASHINGTON?Jack L. Gann, 71, of Washington, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 10, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Jack was born on November 10, 1942 in Springfield, Missouri to Louis and Juanita (King) Gann. He married Peggy Sue Holland in Peoria on October 28, 1965. Peggy died on July 13, 2013 in Peoria. Among those surviving is his daughter, Kimberly Sue (Douglas) Gerard of Washington; one step daughter, Linda Sue Coleman of Morton; one step son, Raymond David (Penny) Farley of London Mills; two brothers, John (Maxine) Gann of Springfield, Mo. And Steve (Dawna) Gann of Cabool, Mo.; one sister, Beverly (Carl) Mathews of Rolla, Mo.; four grandchildren, Julie, Gabriela, Hannah and Savannah; three great grandchildren, Michelle, Sophia and Cole and one great great granddaughter, Jaylynn. Jack was also preceded in death by one son, Jack Jeffery and two brothers, Phil and Tracy Gann. He was a veteran having served four years in the U. S. Navy. Jack was retired from Caterpillar in East Peoria where he had worked for more than 31 years as a millwright. He was a member of Taylor Lodge #98 A.F.&A.M. in Washington, Scottish Rite Valley of Peoria and Mohammed Shrine of Peoria. Jack loved his family and spending time with his kids and grandchildren. A lover of nature, Jack enjoyed spending time fishing and deer hunting as well as doing woodworking projects. He was also a member of the East Peoria Church of Christ. A service to celebrate Jack?s life will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Memorials for Jack may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
