Harold Charles Kirchgessner

Harold Charles Kirchgessner, 98, of Metamora, IL passed away at 6:40 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria. He was born on August 5, 1919 in Partridge Township, IL to Charles and Theresa (Gilles) Kirchgessner. He married Catherine M. Tullis on August 23, 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora. She passed away on August 3, 2013.

Surviving are daughter Linda (Bob) Murphy of Metamora; son Dennis (Iris) Kirchgessner of Washburn; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother Herman Kirchgessner and sister Maria Tullis.

Harold was a life-long farmer, life-long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora, and life-long musician playing all instruments. He enjoyed music immensely, especially all facets of country music and blue grass and recorded several CD's.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Greg Jozefiak officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with visitation to follow from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Metamora. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Mary's School. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
