Etheleen E. Andrews, 92, of Washington, IL passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Proctor Hospital.
She was born on June 13, 1925 in Modesto, CA, the daughter of Jesse L. and Constance E. (Hamlin) Brown. She married Arthur "Andy" Andrews on August 12, 1945 in Pekin, IL. He passed away on March 4, 2015. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded in her in death.
Surviving are her daughter Sharon (Gene) Opsahl of Cherry Valley, IL, 5 grandchildren, Julia, Russell, Jenny, Sherrie and Corrine. Also surviving are 9 great grandchildren and one sister Ruth Davis of Thornton, CO.
Etheleen enjoyed many things in life including her flowers, gardening and crocheting. She was an accomplished artist, drawing landscapes, as well as an avid bowler having been awarded many trophies. She enjoyed baking, especially Christmas cookies, and she made the best divinity in the world, both which she and Andy loved to give away to friends and family. She and Andy were enthusiastic supporters of Wildlife Prairie Park near Peoria. Etheleen was a homemaker and beyond; she was a perfectionist who mastered the activities she pursued. But first of all she was a devoted wife, loving mom and grandma who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
A special thank you to Linda Brown and Terry and Paulette Grebner for their extraordinary kindness and friendship. The family is also so grateful for the wonderful, loving care received by Etheleen from the staff at Riverview and Proctor Hospital, Senior Orthopedic Care Dept.
