Bruce E. Helms, 60, of Morton passed away at 5:18am on Monday, January 4, 2016 at his residence. He was born on May 29, 1955 in Jacksonville, IL the son of James E. and Charlotte D. Floyd Helms He married Connie Wyatt on October 17, 1980 in Washington, IL. They later divorced and remarried on October 17, 2007 in Peoria. Surviving is his wife of Morton, three sons Harmon (Kasey Clouse) Helms of East Peoria, Brody (Kelsey) Helms of Chillicothe, and Chase Helms of Peoria. Also surviving is one stepson Ryan Helms of Morton and one-step daughter Emily (Josh) Dosier of Canton. Further surviving are eight grandchildren; two brothers Doug (Tami) Helms of Virginia and Todd (Angela) Helms of Alaska; one stepbrother Billy Becker of Indiana, four stepsisters Rita (Dave) Williams of Indiana, Julie Gonzales of Texas, Sandy Adams of Roanoke, IL and Barb Woods as well as his stepmother Kathleen Helms both of Washington, IL. His father, mother, step brother Thomas Becker, one-step sister Sharon Younce preceded him in death. He was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran. He worked for G&D Integrated for many years last working on Wednesday December 23, 2015. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 4pm Friday, January 15, 2016 at Grace Baptist Church in Tremont with Rev. Josh Beutow officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to his service.
