Bruce L. Heitzman, 85, of Germantown Hills, IL, passed away at 2:40 am on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by family.

He was born on March 31, 1940, in Peoria County, IL, to John H. and Mildred (DePue) Heitzman.  He married Linda I. Ware on August 27, 1961, in Atlanta, IL.  She passed away on December 18, 2022.

Surviving are their three children, Denice (David) Prather of Germantown Hills, IL, Diana (Dale) Greenhalgh of Metamora, IL, and Gayle (Brian) Malcome of Germantown Hills, IL; eight grandchildren, Joshua (Marcie) Prather, Scott Prather, Brittany (Maksim) Belousov, Gretchen (Matt) Lindow, Nicholas (Marissa) Greenhalgh, Daniel (Desireé) Greenhalgh, Zachariah Greenhalgh, and Ashley Brown; and sixteen great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Bruce was a printer for Fleming & Potter in Peoria, IL.  He was a member of Bayview Baptist Church in Washington, IL.  He enjoyed puzzles, woodworking, horses, gardening, fish aquariums, and crafting.  He loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Bayview Baptist Church with Pastor Brett Bedwell officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour before his services on Wednesday at the church.  Online condolences can be made at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
