William "Bill" Baker

William A. “Bill” Baker, 90, of Peoria, IL passed away Friday, January 3, 2020, at his residence  surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on November 6, 1929, in Peoria the son of Earl and Verna Hedden Baker.  He married Shirley V. Ames on August 7, 1948, in Peoria and she survives.

Also surviving are their five children, Mike (Jane) Baker of Germantown Hills, IL; Pat (the late Ralph) White of Peoria, IL; Rick (Lynne) Baker of Washington, IL; John (Susan) Baker of East Peoria, IL and Mark (Cathy) Baker of Lancaster, TN. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one sister Barbara Zeman of Peoria, IL. His parents, one grand daughter Shannan, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

Bill was a cement contractor owning and operating William Baker and Son’s Cement Construction in Peoria for many years.  He enjoyed being outside working around the house and spending time with his entire family and will be dearly missed.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family service will be held with entombment at Springdale Mausoleum.  Memorials in his name may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  To share a memory or send a condolence for his family, visit www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
