Virginia Dorothy Bade

Virginia Dorothy Bade, 82, of Springfield, IL, formerly of Metamora, IL and Varna, IL, passed away at 2:26 pm on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.  She was born on June 24, 1935 in Hutchinson, Kansas to William H. and Hulda (Ficken) Wegener.  She married A. William Bade on January 3, 1954 in Hutchinson.  He passed away on December 7, 2007.

Surviving are her children John (Joanne) Bade of Pahrump, Nevada and Beth (Tom Ciambella) Brentzel of Springfield; eight grandchildren; and brothers Dean (Lois) Wegener of Abilene, Texas and David (Mary Ann) Wegener of Costa Mesa, California.  She was preceded in death by sons Mark Bade and Paul Bade.

Virginia had been an EMT volunteer with the Varna Ambulance and past member of the ladies aid at church.  She was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Varna and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Washington, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend Thomas Herren officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to her services on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Varna, IL.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Snyder Village, 1200 East Partridge Street, Metamora, IL 61548 or Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1209 Kingsbury Road, Washington, IL 61571.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
