Ronald J. Alig

Ronald J. Alig, 64, of Metamora, IL passed away at 12:58 pm on Friday, January 4, 2019 in East Moline, IL.  He was born on March 5, 1954 in Peoria, IL to Colman W. and Virginia M. (Eaton) Alig.  He married Janice F. Jones on November 17, 1973 in Metamora.

Surviving are his wife Janice of Metamora; children Jena Alig of Phoenix, AZ, Justin Alig of Woodbine, Georgia, and Jared (Jeri) Alig of Metamora; grandchildren Olivia, Kathryn, Avery, and Drake; and siblings Mary (Tony) Snyder, Stephen (Mary) Alig, and William (Julie) Alig.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ron was a truck driver for Airland Transport.  He loved bass fishing and duck hunting.  Family was #1 with him and his grandkids were his heart.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Pastor Christain Jones officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until time of his service on Thursday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to American Diabetes Association Central Illinois Chapter, 2501 Chatham Road, Suite 210, Springfield, IL 62704, American Heart Association Midwest Affiliate, 208 South LaSalle Street, Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60604, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
