Roger F. Suddith, 75, of Washington, IL passed away at 6:05 am on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
He was born on March 28, 1944 in Haleyville, AL to Hayes and Mildred (Cummings) Suddith. He married Paulette McDuffa on June 8, 1963 in Phil Campbell, AL. She preceded him in death. He then married Neva Marlene Robison on January 25, 2013 in Pekin and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter Penny Suddith of Washington; sons Mike Suddith of Salt Lake City, UT and Tony (Tammy) Suddith of Gilbert, AZ; three granddaughters; five grandsons; two great-granddaughters; sisters Patsy and Wanda of Russellville, AL; and brothers Joe of Florence, AL and Danny of Phil Campbell, AL. Preceding him in death were his brothers Larry and Randy.
Roger was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran. Roger worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. and Kroger, then later for Velde Ford and Precision Air Cargo. He served on the Washington City Council from 1981-1989. He enjoyed flying and anything related to airplanes, crossword puzzles, gardening, and maintaining a beautiful lawn.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Christian Church, 1012 North Main Street in Washington. Pastor Jeff Browning will officiate. There will be no visitation. A time of food and fellowship will follow the celebration of life, also at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Washington Christian Church or to TAPS Animal Shelter in Pekin. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting with arrangements.
