Lawrence Koenders Obituary

Lawrence Koenders, 82, of East Peoria, IL, formerly of Arkansas, passed away at 11:50 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at his residence. He was born on April 21, 1936 in Flint, MI to William and Evelyn Koenders. He married Wanda J. Strickland.

Surviving are his daughter Tammy (Mark Adams) Pierce of Zion, IL; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Bev (Jim) Berry; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanda, his son Timothy Pierce, and eleven brothers and sisters.

Lawrence worked for the water department in Gurdon, Arkansas for 30 years prior to his retirement. His passion was being a musician. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be dearly missed.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date in Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL. A Celebration of Life will also be held at a later date. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
