Josephine "Josie" Francis Trotter

Josephine Francis “Josie” Trotter, 81, of Metamora, IL passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019.  She was born on March 6, 1938 in Metamora, IL to Joseph and Theresa (Schaub) Alig.  She married Billie R. Trotter on July 31, 1965 in Metamora.  He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter Suzette (Charles) Boyd of Jasper, Alabama; one son Jason (Tiffany) Trotter of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters Rose Marie Taylor of Rushville, IL, Carina (Earl) Stotler and Joanie (Louie) Turner both of Metamora.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Rita Kapraun and Betty Kapraun, and brother Jake Alig.

Josie worked in medical doctor offices most of her life.  She enjoyed working in her yard.  She was very involved as a member of Illinois Medical Assistants Association for many years.  Josie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 7, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora with Father Greg Jozefiak officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until time of her service on Friday at the church.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Metamora.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to American Diabetes Association Central Illinois Chapter, 2501 Chatham Road, Suite 210, Springfield, IL 62704.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
