Jason York

On Thursday, October 25, 2018, Jason “Jay” York Sr. of Washington, IL passed away at the age of 46.

Jay was born on January 5, 1972 in Peoria, IL to Jerry and Marcy (Thompson) York. On February 13, 2015, Jay married Tara Meyer and together they were raising their beautiful blended family. Jay was the loving father to children Zachary, Stormie, Summer, Jason Jr., and stepfather to Aubrey. He adored his grandchildren, Kamren and Kainen, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his granddaughter Kilah, this winter.

Jay was a joyful presence to everyone he met. His cheerful, silly personality was a light to those around him. Fishing with his children was a favorite activity, as was cheering on the Detroit Lions. He was determined and driven, and took great pride in following his father in his chosen career. Most of all, those who knew Jay got to experience his warmth and generosity, the depth of his friendship, his genuine care and concern for his loved ones, and his adoration for his family.

Jay is survived by his wife, his children and grandchildren, mother, and stepfather Larry Howerter, as well as siblings Tracey Mount, Terry Mount, Angela Angelici, and Patricia Pettie. He is preceded in death by his father.

A funeral service will be held 1:00pm Monday, November 5th, 2018, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be from noon until the time of his service. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. To share a memory of Jay, visit www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
