Jason T. Pownall, 44, of Washington, passed away at 12:36pm Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born on October 29, 1973 in Peoria the son of Phillip and Melanie Berryman Pownall.
Surviving are his mother, Melanie Shearer of Peoria, father, Phillip (Nancy) Pownall of Lithchfield, AZ his step father Dan Shearer of Dunlap, IL; two sons Zachary and Zander Pownall of Peoria. Also surviving are two sisters Erin (Branden Martin) Shearer of Peoria and Kate (Jake) Vandiver of Peoria Heights. His maternal and paternal grandparents preceded him in death.
As a child, Jason was attracted to video games and electronic devices. This transitioned to a livelihood as a contractor doing a wide variety of jobs that included wiring electronics and sound systems. He was the technical partner for the Unique Blends DJ Service that provides music, lighting, and photo booths at events. His casual lifestyle was characterized by his tie-dyed attire and, as part of the Unique Blends brand, Jason created tie-dyed clothing for sale. He was truly in his element tromping through the woods seeking mushrooms and fishing in numerous area lakes and streams. Jason’s personality was a unique blend, itself. His friends know him as good-hearted, generous, and patient. He was a devoted, loving father. The memory of Jason will live forever in our hearts!
