Evelyn M. Kennell

Evelyn M. (Zoss) Kennell, 84, of rural Roanoke, IL passed away at 6:55 pm on Friday, November 2, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.  She was born on April 20, 1934 in rural Roanoke to Harold W. and Anna E. (Reber) Zoss.  She married Robert L. Kennell on June 24, 1954.  He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter Joyce (Roger) Ulrich of Metamora; three sons Ron (Arlene) Kennell of Roanoke, Keith (Kelly) Kennell of Lowpoint, and Darryl (Rhoda) Kennell of Roanoke; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren with one more soon to be born; and one brother Harold (Lorene) Zoss and one sister Shirley Zoss all of rural Roanoke.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one granddaughter, and one daughter-in-law.

Evelyn was a housewife most of her life.  She enjoyed working outdoors in the summer in the yard and in the garden.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Linn Mennonite Church in rural Roanoke with church pastors officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel and also one hour prior to her services at the church on Wednesday.  Burial will be in Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery near Roanoke.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Mennonite Central Committee Et Cetera Thrift Shop, 125 South Main Street, Eureka, IL 61530 or Linn Mennonite Church, 1594 County Road 1700 N, Roanoke, IL 61561.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
