Eva Grace Kirchgessner, 95, of Peoria, IL, formerly of Spring Bay, IL passed away at 7:10 pm on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Courtyard Estates in Peoria, IL. She was born on February 5, 1923 in Ashkum, IL to Arthur C. and Matie L. (Cady) Dixon. She married Clarence J. “PeeWee” Kirchgessner on June 28, 1941 in Peoria. He passed away on June 6, 2003.
Surviving are children Beverly Lyons of Metamora, Barbara Marchand and Janet (Terry) Pickel both of Peoria, Roger (Gloria) Kirchgessner of Spring Bay, Gene (Sally) Kirchgessner of Washington, and Stanley (Kim) Kirchgessner of Afton, OK; fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter Sylvia Miller, grandson Paul Pickle, and three sisters.
Eva enjoyed gardening, mowing the yard, sewing, embroidering, square dancing, and camping. She was a member of the Spring Bay Ladies Auxiliary for 64 years and a member of RiversEdge United Methodist Church in Spring Bay.
The family would like to thank Eva’s second family at Courtyard Estates for their care of Eva and the family also expresses their gratitude to OSF Hospice.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Reverend Dick Garber officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Spring Bay Fire & Rescue Department, 407 Caroline, Spring Bay, IL 61611 or Spring Bay American Legion #1115 Ladies Auxiliary, 500 Legion Lane, East Peoria, IL 61611.
