Emogene “Jean” Jenke, 96, of Washington, IL passed away at 9:57 am on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria. She was born on January 31, 1922 in Minneapolis, MN to William and Katherine (Richardson) Yahr. She married Arthur A. Jenke on May 21, 1940 in Chicago, IL. He passed away in 2005.
Surviving are her children Ronald (Mary) Jenke of Sunnyland, Arthur (Mary Ann) Jenke, Jr. of Germantown Hills, and Sally (Don) Swords of Clermont, FL; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Alan Jenke, great-grandchild Wyatt, four brothers, and two sisters.
Jean worked as an office clerk for Hallmark Fixtures Operations for 20 years. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Washington. Jean enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading, and bingo. She was a member of the Caterpillar Retirees Club.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora with Reverend Tom Heren officiating.
