Britt A. Beard

Britt A. Beard, 68, of Metamora, IL passed away at 7:00 am on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at his residence.  He was born on March 5, 1951 in Peoria, IL to William H. and Betty E. (Duran) Beard.  He married Kimberly S. Mast on September 20, 1985 in Metamora.

Surviving are his wife Kim of Metamora; three children Cyndi (Keith) Turner of Corona, CA, Britt A. (Nicole) Beard II of East Peoria, and Cody Roe-Beard of Metamora; four grandchildren Gage Turner, Megan Turner, Britt A. (Trey) Beard III, and Tucker Beard; and three siblings William “Bill” (Brenda) Beard of East Peoria, Bruce (Lynn) Beard of Creve Coeur, and Belinda Brown of Metamora.  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and one infant grandson.

Britt graduated from East Peoria High School.  He received his Police Science degree from Illinois Central College and advance training as police firearms instructor, criminal interrogation, breath-alcohol operator, and juvenile officer.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Bradley Epworth United Methodist Church in Peoria.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 pm on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Pastor Tom Eckhardt officiating.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.  Private family entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery and Mausoleum in Peoria on Monday, June 10.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to a Memorial Fund in Britt’s name at CEFCU.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
