Adam Michael Verchimak

Adam M. Verchimak of Macomb Township, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 4, 2018 at the age of 22 years.

Adam was born on December 4, 1995 in Peoria, IL.  He was the oldest son of three children born to Carlyne (nee Adams) and Michael Verchimak.  Faith was very important to Adam and he dedicated his life to Jesus.  He was a member of Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Macomb Township, where he served in many areas.  In the summer of 2012, Adam took a two-week mission trip to Dallas, TX, serving local community outreach.  He was a 2014 graduate of Dakota High School, where he was Co-President for Young Republicans.  For eight years, Adam was on a swim team, two being at Dakota H.S. 

In August 2014 Adam made the decision to join the United States Army.  Specialist Adam Verchimak was a Biomedical Equipment Engineer amongst the 87 members of the 409th Medical Company located in Madison, WI in the Armed Forces Reserve Center.  Adam was brilliant in the field of Chemistry and Science.  He always was talking about fun facts and would enlighten his family with tidbits of information throughout the day.  Adam was an avid Star Wars fan and had been since a very young age.  His Grandma’s homemade strawberry pie was always his favorite.  Adam loved spending time with his family.  He is our beloved son, brother, and grandson.  Adam will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Adam is survived by his mother, Carlyne Adams; sisters, Anna Verchimak and Ava Verchimak; maternal grandparents, Carl and Mary Adams; uncle, Bryan Adams; father, Michael Verchimak; paternal grandparents, Louis and Sharlene Verchimak; uncle, Matthew Verchimak; and many extended family and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Pastor John King officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to his service on Monday at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.  Burial of Ashes will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Metamora.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Camp Cuervo Archery Club, Box 186, Washington, MI 48094.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
