Betty J. (Grebner) Beltramea

Betty J. Beltramea, 90, of Metamora, IL, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Snyder Village in Metamora.

She was born on April 11,1934 in Worth Township, Woodford County, to Elmer J. and Leona M. (Theobald) Grebner, Sr. She married Joseph E. Beltramea on June 4, 1955, at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Metamora. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Stan (Jill Hasser) Beltramea of Glen Carbon, IL and Brad (Julie Murphy) Beltramea of Metamora; seven grandchildren, Noah, Amelia, Maria, Allison, and Riley, Olivia, and Avery; and brother, Elmer (Renee Alig) Grebner, Jr. of Metamora. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert Grebner and sister, Marilyn (Ted) Alig.

Betty was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora and the Altar & Rosary Society. She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, always making sure everyone was well-fed. She was also an avid gardener, growing endless varieties of vegetables and flowers. She worked at Commercial Bank and Caterpillar before staying home to raise her sons. As a breast cancer survivor of many years, she volunteered with American Cancer Society to help other women through the recovery process after surgery. Betty was also a lover of music. She was a member of the Peoria Area Civic Chorale and could often be heard singing or humming as she went about her daily activities.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora with Father David Kipfer officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9:00 am with visitation to follow from 9:30 am until mass time. Burial will be in St. Mary of Lourdes Cemetery in Metamora. Following the burial, a meal will be held at the Snyder Village SV Center.
